Pilates for the People is more than a studio. It is a MOVEMENT making Pilates more accessible.

Part of that is making teacher training more accessible.

We designed this training so that experienced movement professionals can get started teaching sooner while they work on their certification.

Start teaching sooner if you’ve done a 200-hour yoga teacher training, taught mat Pilates or Barre, been a personal trainer or PT, or have similar experience.

You’ll learn how to…

  • Teach essential Pilates exercises in a safe, effective way

  • Use skilled cueing to deepen the mind-body connection of your students

  • Incorporate props and modifications to create affirming learning spaces

  • Bring the Pilates Principles alive in your class to respect the method

  • Deliver Pilates as healing movement to improve balance, reduce pain, and help people live well for longer

Meet Your Instructor

Learn how to teach Pilates as healing, mindful movement from someone who has been teaching for the right reasons for 17 years. Lindsey taught her first Pilates mat class in 2007 to faculty and students at Virginia Tech. Movement helped her heal after trauma from gun violence and disordered eating, and she’s passionate about creating trauma-informed, inclusive, and affirming studio environments. Lindsey took her first anatomy class at the tender age of 16 and hasn’t stopped nerding out about the human body since. She’s taught thousands of hours of classes, trained dozens of teachers in yoga and Pilates, and is proud of all of the lives her team has changed for the better.

“Lindsey is wonderful teacher and I have learned so much from her in such a short period of time. I have learned to not take myself so seriously and through seeing Lindsey in her own practice, I have been able to find more joy in my practice as well.”

— Silvia, Teacher Training Graduate

Spaces are limited to ensure that we can provide one on one support and a small group learning environment.

Once we’ve reviewed your application and accepted you to the training cohort, you’ll receive our teacher training agreement and payment details so that you can book your spot with your deposit.

Your investment for this training is $600. Most teachers at our studio see a return on that investment in their second month of teaching, but depending on how often you teach, you may see a return sooner.

A note: completing the training does not guarantee you a teaching spot at the studio. Graduates will still be required to interview, audition, and complete onboarding.
