Join our Movement

Pilates for the People is more than a studio. It is a MOVEMENT making Pilates more accessible.

We believe teaching is relationship-based and not a performance.

That’s why individual mentorship is a huge component of our training.

When students feel seen, heard, and supported, they’re able to access a deeper level of transformation.

If you’d like to teach with more heart, this training is for you.

Meet Your Instructors

Learn how to teach Pilates as healing, mindful movement from mentors who have been teaching for the right reasons for a combined 45+ years!

Nivea taught her first Pilates class in the 90s and is a recognized teacher through NCPT (National Pilates Certification Program). After being taken under the wing of her incredible mentors during her STOTT training, she committed to paying it forward as a mentor for future instructors. Her joy for the practice, infectious enthusiasm, and kind, direct way of giving feedback make her an absolutely dynamo to learn from.

Lindsey taught her first Pilates mat class in 2007 to faculty and students at Virginia Tech. Movement helped her heal after trauma from gun violence and disordered eating, and she’s passionate about creating trauma-informed, inclusive, and affirming studio environments. Lindsey took her first anatomy class at the tender age of 16 and hasn’t stopped nerding out about the human body since. She’s taught thousands of hours of classes, trained dozens of teachers in yoga and Pilates, and is proud of all of the lives her team has changed for the better.

“Lindsey is wonderful teacher and I have learned so much from her in such a short period of time. I have learned to not take myself so seriously and through seeing Lindsey in her own practice, I have been able to find more joy in my practice as well.”
